For more than twenty years Fred Funke has been performing magic across the Ruhrgebiet, including a long run as house magician at the Varieté et Cetera in Bochum from 2004 to 2020, plus the Westdeutschen Spielbanken, the Grusellabyrinth in Bottrop and a cruise ship.
His magic works at arm's length: the cards lie in a guest's own hands and the effect happens between their fingers, with no set-up, no technology and no fog machine. He talks with people and listens first, so the trick lands exactly where nobody expected it. The formats range from close-up at the table and walking act to a thirty- to sixty-minute stage show for galas, club celebrations and company anniversaries, alongside unhurried programmes for care homes and inclusive groups.
