Why FindMagic Exists

Magic deserves better than a yellow pages listing.

FindMagic was built by people who perform magic. We kept seeing the same problem from both sides of the curtain.

If you love magic, there’s no good way to find out what’s playing — tonight at home, or next week in a city you’re visiting. If you want to hire a magician, you’re Googling through vendor sites that file magic next to balloon animals. And if you are a magician, those same sites bury you, then take a cut.

So we built a directory with two jobs: help people find shows worth seeing, and help them hire the right magician — directly.

No middleman. No marketplace fees. No commission on your bookings.

The short version

What we don’t do

We’ve been on the other side of those platforms. Our promise, in plain language:

  • We don’t charge you to be listed. Your page is free. Period.
  • We don’t charge you for leads. No per-referral fee, no credit packs, no paywall on an enquiry.
  • We don’t take a commission on your bookings. What you earn is yours. All of it.
  • We don’t hold your visibility hostage. No “boost your listing” upsells. No paying to not be buried.
  • We don’t pit performers against each other on price. No reverse auction. We will never ask you to bid against another magician.

The honest part

How we’ll keep the lights on

If everything’s free, what’s the catch? There isn’t one today. But FindMagic will have to pay for itself eventually, so here’s our thinking.

Any paid features will be optional extras, aimed at getting you discovered where people now search — the AI assistants and conversational engines someone asks to “find me a magician.” What won’t change: your listing stays free, and we will never take a cut of your bookings, charge you per lead, or paywall your own profile.

Any magician can be removed

We build pages from public information so audiences can find you. If you’d rather not be here, ask — we verify it’s really you, then take the page down. No argument, no retention pitch.

We’d rather you claimed it. A claimed page is yours to edit, and enquiries go straight to you instead of to us. But that’s your choice to make, not ours. Use the report link on your page, or write to hello@findmagic.show.
