Manuel Alcalde's career took off at 15, when he reached the semi-finals of the first edition of Got Talent España. More than a decade later, his close-up and parlour magic fills successful uninterrupted seasons at Madrid's Sala Houdini, considered one of the most important magic rooms in all of Europe.
His 65-minute one-man show leans heavily on card magic, then turns to coins, banknotes, phones and objects borrowed from the audience for appearances and vanishes, predictions, transformations and impossible coincidences, with the room arranged so each illusion lands inches from the spectator. He has also performed close-up magic in the preshow of Houdini el Musical at the prestigious Teatro Calderón in Madrid, and brings the same interactive work to cocktail receptions, private celebrations and corporate events.
