Dr. Richard Nongard is a close-up magician and mentalist based in Las Vegas, Nevada, known for card magic and visual sleight of hand.
Las Vegas magician and mentalist Dr. Richard Nongard is a licensed psychotherapist and clinical hypnotist who has studied magic since 1981 as a student of the magical philosopher Eugene Burger. That grounding shows: his mentalism reads people, predicts choices and explores the strange territory between coincidence and inevitability, with humour as the engine driving everything.
Guests become the medium rather than the audience, with the stories woven from their own experiences, and things can turn deliciously dark while levity reigns. Dr. Nongard performs close-up and strolling magic that turns small groups into co-conspirators at cocktail hours and on trade show floors, and full stage shows for 30 to 2,000 people that blend mentalism, comedy and psychological storytelling. It is sophisticated entertainment for grown-ups, suited to corporate events, wedding receptions, casino nights, galas and private parties.
