Biography
Tori Noquez performs close-up magic with the most ordinary of objects — cards, cups and ropes — and turns them into astonishing sleight of hand, threaded through with her own unique sense of humour. She holds a Ph.D. and works as a professor of mathematics in Oakland, California, and she shuffles those two mysterious worlds together into an act that is as charming as it is baffling.
Her magic happens inches away, so the astonishment and the laughter arrive together and guests come away feeling they have got to know the performer. Alongside private and corporate bookings, she has staged a mathematics themed variety show accompanying the 2024 Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Francisco, and her work has been featured by CMU and discussed on the Wonderful Being podcast.
