Richiardi Jr.
“Peruvian master of dramatic stage illusion”
Based in Lima
Biography
Richiardi Jr. was the stage name of Peruvian master illusionist Aldo Izquierdo Colosi (1923–1985). Born into a multi-generational dynasty of magicians in Lima, Peru, he began performing as a child and developed one of the most electric, choreographically intense stage acts in magic history. His visceral and dramatic presentations of classic grand illusions—most famously his heart-stopping Buzz Saw and his peerless masterclass in the Broom Suspension—turned traditional stage magic into gripping theatrical drama.
A fixture of international variety theatre and television, Richiardi made a record 24 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, more than any other magician in the program's history. His hit New York stage productions, including "The Incredible World of Magic & Illusion" at The Village Gate, earned widespread acclaim and influenced generations of premier illusionists, from David Copperfield and Doug Henning to Criss Angel.
