Biography
Award-winning magician Kel Modern Magic covers a whole evening single-handedly: close-up magic among the guests, MC hosting and a full interactive show, with no dead air. In 2026 Kel won three gold medals at the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians championships — Comedy Magician of the Year, Most Novel Magic, and the Tony Eng Memorial People's Choice Award, voted by the room.
No top hat, no doves, no smoke machine — the magic is built for rooms of adults who don't usually get impressed by a trick. Earlier honours include Close-up Magician of the Year from the Fraser Valley Magic Circle in 2023 and the Leon Mandrake Award for Showmanship. Twenty-five years performing full-time in Vancouver cover cocktail socials, weddings, banquets, galas and conferences, with clients including Lululemon, Nintendo, Deloitte and BMW.
