James Alan

Toronto-based magician and sleight-of-hand artist James Alan makes the case that magic really is for grownups, with interactive performances that have been described as "thought provoking, astonishing, funny and thoroughly entertaining." He has been featured in the Toronto Star and on CP24, and trusted by Scotiabank, IBM and Google.

His solo shows Lies, Damn Lies & Magic Tricks and The Uncertainty Project played the Summerworks Performance Festival, the Hamilton Fringe Festival and the Wychwood Theatre, and Mysteries and Lies reached the 2026 Toronto Fringe Festival. He hosted the long-running weekly series Magic Tonight and starred in Magic & Martini, together seven years of continuous weekly magic in Toronto, and created The Choice, a close-up experience featured regularly at À Toi. Mingling close-up magic for receptions or a seated show, his work suits corporate events, weddings and private parties across Canada.
