Gary the Mentalist

Gary the Mentalist performs Security Mentalism: the use of psychological techniques to influence people without them even knowing it, delivered through live demonstrations rather than slides and lectures to make abstract cybersecurity concepts fun and memorable. Away from the stage he is Gary S. Chan, a mentalist, CISO, and keynote speaker who graduated from MIT with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and a leader in the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

Each demonstration is a mind-bending journey where psychology meets mystery, pairing impossible feats of influence with real-world security insights that expose human vulnerabilities. The interrogation-themed experience at its heart was inspired by a request from the FBI. Gary suits corporate events and keynote slots that call for a presentation people share and that changes behavior.
