Ed Ripley
“Scientific close-up magic built with an engineer’s precision”
Based in Oak Ridge
Biography
Ed Ripley is an Oak Ridge metallurgical and nuclear engineer who also performs and designs close-up magic. A U.S. Department of Energy profile confirms his Penn & Teller: Fool Us appearance, FISM World Championship participation and consulting for professional magicians, while a 2024 professional-convention biography still describes him as internationally known in magic. Ripley treats conjuring as a serious creative practice alongside his engineering career rather than advertising a conventional entertainment business. No performer-owned website or current public booking route was located, so availability remains unknown.
