Mentalist Banachek holds the rare title "The man who fooled the scientists", earned in Project Alpha when he convinced researchers at Washington University in St Louis that he could bend metal with his mind, only to reveal later that he had been using trickery the entire time. Penn of Penn & Teller called his show "The greatest mentalist act, in the world", and the duo's closer, 'The Magic bullet', was created and performed first by Banachek.

Mind Games plays live from Las Vegas, where Banachek headlines at the Strat, and his performances end in a resounding standing ovation. As President of the James Randi Educational Foundation he runs the million-dollar challenge, testing psychics and exposing frauds, work that includes his expose of the evangelist Peter Poppoff. Trade shows, cruise ships, corporate gatherings, keynotes and theaters all suit him.
